“Become the best version of yourself.” - Art Williams

What is labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a cosmetic vaginal procedure that is performed on the labia in order to change their size, or reduce the size and look of the exterior vaginal lips or to correct any asymmetry between them. The goal of Labioplasty is to reduce the labia minora so that they don't hang below the hair-bearing labia majora.

Why is it performed?
Labiaplasty is a good option for women who have excess skin on the labia either the small inner lips of the vagina (minora) or the larger outer lips of the vagina (majora), which can negatively impact on their self-confidence. The procedure is minor, and does not affect sexual sensation – rather it helps to improve the appearance of the vagina.

How does it work?
The surgery is performed under general anaesthetic by your aesthetic gynaecologist, and typically takes around an hour to complete. You will be given some mild sedation before the procedure begins. During the procedure, which is a kind of laser surgery, Dr Rampersadh will remove tissue from each labium to reduce their size, and correct any asymmetry.

In order to perform the labiaplasty, Dr Rampersadh will outline the desired contours on the labia with a surgical marker. A laser is then used to remove the excess tissue. The remaining tissue will be stitched with stitches that can be absorbed by the body in a short period of time. In some cases, the procedure may include a clitoral hood reduction, whereby excess tissue surrounding the clitoris is removed.

The procedure leaves very little scarring. Patients return to normal lifestyle and daily activities in a short period after the procedure.

The benefits of a labiaplasty procedure are significant. Not only does it improve the appearance of the vagina considerably, but it also helps to improve self-esteem in patients that have struggled with sexual confidence.

Labia Majora Augmentation
Labia Majora (the larger outer lips or labia of the vagina) augmentation aims to increase the size and look of the labia majora in cases of hypotrophy caused by aging or rapid weight loss. Impressive results of the overall appearance of the vaginal area can be achieved.

Labia Majora Tightening
When the skin of the large lips or labia of the vagina appears loosened, using a high technology laser, the labia can be tightened. This may require six or more sessions to achieve the results you are seeking.

What does recovery involve?
The recovery time after a labiaplasty can be anything from 5-7 weeks. During your recovery Dr Rampersadh will advise that you avoid having intercourse or using tampons for the next few weeks.
