What is vaginal rejuvenation?
Vaginal rejuvenation otherwise known as vaginoplasty is a procedure that is performed to tighten the muscles of the vagina in order to improve control and muscle strength.
Why is it performed?
It is common for the vagina to loosen after childbirth, or as a result of ageing. Vaginal rejuvenation works effectively to counter this, and greatly improves the muscle tone of the vagina.
It is worth considering vaginal rejuvenation if you have noticed:
Women who are suffering from the above mentioned issues, or who simply feel self-conscious may benefit from a vaginal rejuvenation surgery.
How does it work?
Vaginal rejuvenation is performed in Dr Rampersadh’s rooms and does not need any form of anaesthesia.
Most vaginal rejuvenation procedures are performed using new high technology laser equipment. During vaginal rejuvenation, surgical lasers using carbon dioxide are used to create a laser beam. The laser beams are then used to alter and tighten the vagina, by increasing the blood supply which leads to stimulating the deep vaginal tissue, resulting in the development of new collagen and elastin fibres.
Over a period of three to six months, the diameter of the vagina narrows resulting in a tighter vagina. In addition, vaginal rejuvenation results in an increase in vaginal lubrication. Because the vaginal wall is thicker, there is a decrease in vaginal and bladder infections. All of these changes result in an increased libido and sexual satisfaction for both the female patient and their partners. There is also an increase in self-esteem and quality of life for women who undergo this aesthetic gynaecology surgery.
